Questions you may have!

Some of the most common questions below. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help.

  • What ages do you offer swim lessons for?

Turtle Tot lessons are designed for infants ages 3 and under. One-on-one private swim lessons are available for children ages 4 and up.

  •  What is the Turtle Tot lesson?

Turtle Tot lessons are water acclimation classes for infants that gently introduce them to the water in a fun, nurturing environment. These lessons focus on comfort, bonding, and early life-saving foundations such as floating and breath control. This is an introductory step into water safety.

  • What are 1-on-1 private swim lessons?

Private lessons provide personalized instruction focused on the skills you want your child to learn, while always prioritizing water safety. Lessons are paced to your child’s comfort level and progress.

  •  Why are lessons 30 minutes long?

Thirty minutes is the ideal length for children to stay focused, engaged, and successful in the water. This time frame supports attention span, physical stamina, and skill retention without overwhelming the swimmer. For children who benefit from additional time, extended or additional lessons may be booked as availability allows.

  •  How long will it take for my child to learn how to swim?

Every child learns at their own pace. Progress depends on consistency, comfort level, and individual readiness. Our goal is steady progress and long-term water confidence, not rushing milestones.

  • Is water safety taught in every lesson?

Yes. Water safety is the foundation of every lesson and is reinforced consistently at every age and skill level.

  • Do you teach floating and breath control?

Yes. Floating, breath control, and body awareness are introduced early and developed over time, as they are essential life-saving skills.

Is my child’s safety your top priority?
Absolutely. Safety is our highest priority. Lessons are structured, age-appropriate, and taught with constant supervision and care.

  •  Can parents be in the water during lessons?

Parents are welcome in the water during Turtle Tot lessons for comfort and bonding. As children gain confidence and independence, parents may be asked to step out of the pool. Parents typically remain out of the water during private lessons unless discussed in advance.

  •  What if my child is afraid of the water?

That is completely okay. Lessons are gentle, patient, and paced to your child’s comfort level. Building trust and positive experiences comes first.

  •  What should my child bring to lessons?

A swimsuit, towel, and swim diaper if your child is not potty trained. Goggles are optional and based on comfort.

  •  How do I pay for lessons?

Payment details and accepted methods are provided at booking and must be completed prior to the first lesson.

  •  What happens if we miss a lesson?

Attendance and make-up policies are outlined at booking. Please review all policies before scheduling.

  • Will my child be recorded during lessons?

Lessons may be recorded for progress and educational purposes. Children’s privacy is always respected. Families may opt out of photos or videos used on social media, and all content is handled with care.
